On February 6, the Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization hosted David Azrieli, regarded as one of the world’s most innovative builders and designers, a warm hearted Philanthropist with a commitment to many worthy causes. He was accompanied by Menachem Einan, Former CEO of the Azrieli Group and current Director & Active Deputy to the Chairman. Their visit and tour of Tel Aviv’s Beit Halochem gave them an opportunity to become closely acquainted with some of the disabled veterans and witness first hand several of the rehabilitative activities offered to them.
In pursuance of this visit, our friends organization in Canada, Aid to Disabled Veterans of Israel decided to honor David Azrieli at their annual Gala concert in Montreal which took place on June 5th. The special evening was in celebration of Mr. Azrieli’s 90th birthday.
Mr. Azrieli is a strong supporter of Israel and its wounded veterans. The Azrieli Foundation will be making a generous contribution to Beit Halochem as well as matching the funds raised from our three concerts. These funds will be directed to the building of the Hydrotherapy Pool at Beit Halochem in Tel Aviv. This pool offers vitally important and life sustaining treatment for paraplegics and quadriplegics as well as people with severe back and head injuries.
