Dear Mr. Jaffe,
On October 10th, 2005, I had the privilege of being present at the scholarship awarding ceremony at Beit Halochem in Tel Aviv. On that day, I was called to the stage and given a scholarship, by you, personally.
Not only did that occasion instill pride in me and my father, who was present at the ceremony, but most important of all, it enlivened me greatly.
It was an extra ordinary opportunity to see how in the complex Israeli reality, which unfortunately has lately emphasized the "self", the "individual", and the quest for personal realization, a new spirit is blowing: a spirit of volunteerism and the love of mankind, a spirit which has long been forgotten. I was elated to see you, Mr. Jaffe, present me with the scholarship and feel the excitement yourself. And I, as a soldier in the paratroopers who was injured on duty, a duty which was disrupted by that injury, felt immense pride at being eligible for that scholarship. More over, I felt again like a 'soldier', winning a kind of 'decoration'.
I may also add that it is the scholarship which has helped and still is helping in financing my studies at the law school in Bar Ilan University. I am also positive that each and every one of the students feels towards you the same respect and appreciation, at least, as it was described in the above.
Therefore, I stand by you, and by all the fun, and call on you to continue on your blessed path.
Sincerely,
Benyamin Drosman
