Research proves that being involved in sports activities, and particularly competitive sports, has a significant effect (mentally, physically and socially) on the rehabilitation process of the disabled.
In recent years the competitive disabled sport has become more and more professional and demanding. It means that to be able to reach the required standard level necessary to compete in any international competition, the disabled should put many hours and much effort toward training ; it means giving up his leisure time, not to mention investing many hours in training instead of working.
Consequently, the need to support the disabled athletes and to encourage them to continue in their training has become more important and critical. It is this imperative need which has brought us to distribute scholarships to those athletes who have already shown results as well as to the younger ones who can show their progress and potential.
Last year we distributed 48 scholarships, including to some coaches in the amount of US $800-2,500 and would like to thank the following donors:
Donors:
Jaffe Family - England
Gold Danny & Monica - Hong-Kong
Friends of Israel Disabled Veterans - U.S.A.
A.D.V.I. - Beit Halochem Canada
Z.D.V.O. - Australia
Association des Invalides Cote d'Azur - France
