Beit Halochem Tel Aviv hosted Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson
Welsh athlete and TV presenter Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson was born with spina bifida and uses a wheelchair. She is considered to be one of the most successful disabled athletes in the UK. Last month she visited Tel-Aviv's Beit Halochem. |

Inaugural 5Towns 5K Run/Walk held in North Woodmere Park
On April 18, 2010 North Woodmere Park the Friends of Israel Disabled Veterans held the inaugural 5Towns 5K Run/Walk in support of Beit Halochem rehabilitation centers in Israel. The goal of this event was to publicize the great work that Beit Halochem does and to raise funds. |

Delegation of Wheelchair Dancers Perform in South America
In September 2009 a delegation of 3 wheelchair dancers and their partners traveled to Panama and Colombia, together with disabled veterans Matan Bnayahu and singer Liron Lev. They appeared before the Jewish Community in both countries before enthusiastic and moved audiences.

Zohar Sharon, the blind disabled veteran, three times World Champion for Blind Golfing and twice British Open Champion for Blind Golfing recently won the 2009 Blind Golf Japan Open Championship. |
