26 August 2010 Israel's Severely Disabled Veterans Participate in Golf Courses for the First Time Ever joint initiative of the Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization together with the Caesarea Golf Center has enabled 9 severely disabled veterans, members of the ZDVO to begin learning golf. 8 July 2010 End of Year Arts and Crafts Exhibit The three Beit Halochem Centers recently held their annual End of the Year Arts and Crafts Exhibits featuring the works of their members taking part in a wide array of art courses and workshops. 4 July 2010 Newly Expanded Physiotherapy Hall Inaugurated at Jerusalem's Beit Halochem The inauguration of the newly expanded Physiotherapy Hall at Jerusalem's Beit Halochem took place on June 22, 2010 in a festive celebration. 1 June 2010 Beit Halochem Tel Aviv hosted Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson Welsh athlete and TV presenter Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson was born with spina bifida and uses a wheelchair. She is considered to be one of the most successful disabled athletes in the UK. Last month she visited Tel-Aviv's Beit Halochem. 3 May 2010 Inaugural 5Towns 5K Run/Walk held in North Woodmere Park On April 18, 2010 North Woodmere Park the Friends of Israel Disabled Veterans held the inaugural 5Towns 5K Run/Walk in support of Beit Halochem rehabilitation centers in Israel. The goal of this event was to publicize the great work that Beit Halochem does and to raise funds. 16 February 2010 Parlor Meeting held at the home of Sabrina and David Ascher On January 28, 2010, Sabrina and David Ascher sponsored a well attended parlor meeting at their Manhattan home on the Upper West Side. 18 January 2010 Delegation of Wheelchair Dancers Perform in South America In September 2009 a delegation of 3 wheelchair dancers and their partners traveled to Panama and Colombia, together with disabled veterans Matan Bnayahu and singer Liron Lev.
